About the Role
This is a front desk reception role in a busy clinic at UMC Physicians, focused on patient check-in, administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operations. Responsibilities
- Serves as a direct contact/referral point for patients.
- Greets patients in person and via telephone.
- Answers multi-line telephone system in a professional manner.
- Performs clerical duties pertaining to appointment scheduling.
- Accurately registers patients using the UMCP computer system.
- Ensures all documents and forms are presented, explained, and signed at time of registration.
- Obtains all necessary information to perform benefits verifications.
- Obtains appropriate signed consent forms.
- Collects co-pay or amount required at time of service.
- Works to provide a friendly, calm, and professional environment for patients and their families.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have experience in meeting people and dealing with them under adverse conditions.
- General computer skills.
- Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Must be capable of learning quickly and accepting change.
- High School diploma.
- Typing speed of 30 wpm.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Previous experience in a general office capacity.
- Spanish fluent bilingual.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Ability to work 8 AM-5 PM Monday – Friday, 9 AM-1 PM Saturday.
- Requires prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
- Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
- Must be able to transact business in person or on the telephone.
