About the Role

Act as Brand Lead for James Purdey & Sons, providing global legal support for all aspects of its business, including advising the GLT team and attending monthly meetings. Partner with the IP Head Counsel to manage global legal affairs, understand business strategies, identify legal risks, and advise on implications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide global legal support to James Purdey & Sons on all matters.
  • Provide global legal support to other UK Maisons (Alfred Dunhill, Peter Millar & G/FORE UK and Laureus World Sports Awards) on various commercial matters.
  • Provide local legal support to Richemont UK Operations functions and Maisons on UK-specific issues such as real estate, construction, BOS & health and safety, UK consumer disputes, supplier disputes, insolvency risks, and stock/debt recovery.
  • Support the UK Corporate team as needed.
  • Act as the primary legal support for Purdey, advising its GLT team and attending monthly meetings.
  • Partner with the IP Head Counsel for Purdey on global legal affairs, working with the business to understand strategies, identify legal risks, and advise on implications.
  • Work alongside Head Counsel, Trainee Solicitor, and Group Legal Intellectual Property team to provide legal support for UK Maisons.
  • Liaise with Group Legal US colleagues for Peter Millar & G/FORE matters.
  • Work with the Richemont UK ExCo team and/or UK Procurement team for UK Operations support on new projects.
  • Collaborate with UK Maison teams, UK Richemont Operations teams, and the wider Richemont Group, including Group Legal IP, HR, Security, marketing, digital, and communications teams.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries, including identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks to provide legal solutions and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support the monitoring and management of compliance risks related to legal and regulatory matters, Group policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure regular use of and contribution to Group Legal’s knowledge management and stay current on applicable legislation.
  • Draft, review, and contribute to Group Legal memos, guidelines, business rules, and processes in collaboration with Maisons, Functions, Regions, and the central Group Legal Team.
  • Participate in, contribute to, and project-manage Legal Operations-related projects aligned with the agenda set by Group General Counsel, Chief Counsel, Richemont and Regions, and the Legal Leadership Team.
  • Support the development and delivery of training initiatives for internal teams on best practices and internal policies.

Requirements

  • Five years or more of work experience in a similar role (compliance, business legal function).
  • Experience with AI technology solutions (e.g., Legora or Harvey AI).
  • General commercial experience and business acumen.
  • Experience in the luxury industry is particularly valued.
  • Highest work standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and focus on detail and structure while preserving effectiveness.
  • Keenness to learn, share, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify and seize opportunities for professional development in a self-confident yet respectful manner.
  • Digitally savvy, including routine use of AI with strong prompting capabilities.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office (in particular Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Familiarity with shared work and project management environments (SharePoint, Monday.com, Diligent, any other project management tools / tech solutions).
