About the Role

The Property Compliance Analyst will complete assignments related to tenant file compliance with Section 42, focusing on 24 CFR Part 5 for income eligibility. This role requires judgment in interpreting regulations, identifying risks, and ensuring accurate compliance engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Complete pre- and post-occupancy tenant file compliance reviews and reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate potential problem areas during engagements, recommending actions.
  • Conduct research on federal and/or state compliance regulations and apply findings with supervisory guidance.
  • Work within a deadline-driven environment to meet productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Meet or exceed established file review productivity benchmarks.
  • Develop effective client relationships through professionalism and follow-through.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant Section 42 experience with a specific focus on 24 CFR Part 5 related to income eligibility, or an appropriate balance of education and directly related work experience.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of tenant file compliance rules and regulations, including the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA).
  • Demonstrated initiative and professional judgment, including the ability to identify potential inconsistencies, ask probing questions, and proactively seek resolutions or additional work when capacity allows.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and complete work accurately and efficiently with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow direction, accept constructive feedback, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and contribute ideas that add value.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with coworkers and clients and adhere to internal firm deadlines and administrative requirements.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends based on position needs.
  • Available to travel domestically (expected to be 25-35% of the time, depending on workload).

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply compliance requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel).
  • Proficiency in report writing tools.

Salary/Compensations

  • $64,000 to $87,000 depending on experience. More is possible if experience dictates.
