About the Role

Fora is seeking a Director of Sales to lead its sales organization, focusing on building the outbound sales function and developing the inbound sales team. This is a leadership opportunity to build from first principles, hire Account Executives, define sales strategy, establish processes, and create coaching and performance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Build Fora’s outbound sales organization from the ground up by developing the strategy, playbook, operating model, and team structure for a scalable outbound motion.
  • Develop a hiring strategy for the outbound Account Executive organization and the existing Business Development Representative team, aligning team growth with business goals and revenue performance.
  • Hire, onboard, coach, and develop high performing Account Executives while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and execution.
  • Lead and elevate the existing Business Development Representative team by implementing consistent coaching, performance management, and career development practices.
  • Design and implement structured sales enablement programs, including onboarding, ramp plans, call reviews, skills development, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Develop compensation plans, quota frameworks, and ramp structures that support sustainable GMV growth while aligning with company economics.
  • Experiment with outbound prospecting strategies, messaging, and channel mix to identify effective approaches, then translate learnings into repeatable processes and playbooks.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Operations to establish reporting, performance dashboards, and the operational metrics needed to measure and optimize a newly established outbound motion.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Marketing and other partners to build a repeatable pipeline generation engine that drives qualified opportunities and long term growth.
  • Lead the organization to consistently achieve revenue targets by using performance data and customer insights to continuously improve execution.
  • Build scalable sales processes and operating rhythms that support efficient growth as the organization expands.
  • Establish Fora as a destination for exceptional sales talent by building a high performing culture with clear development opportunities and strong leadership.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success building and leading outbound sales organizations in high growth, revenue focused businesses.
  • Experience building new sales motions from the ground up, including developing processes, systems, reporting, and operating frameworks without an existing playbook.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing quota carrying Account Executives, with a track record of building effective enablement and performance management programs.
  • Experience improving the performance of existing sales teams through coaching, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Experience designing compensation plans, quota models, and ramp structures that support sustainable revenue or GMV growth.
  • Experience partnering closely with Revenue Operations or Sales Operations to build reporting, forecasting, funnel visibility, and performance metrics.
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to solve ambiguous problems and build scalable solutions.
  • Experience selling to small and medium sized businesses, ideally within high volume or transactional sales environments.
  • Experience building repeatable outbound sales processes that drive predictable pipeline generation and revenue growth.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and execution skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive results in a fast paced environment.
  • This role is based in New York and requires regular in office collaboration.
