About the Role
This role focuses on devising and delivering creative, impactful interventions to advance campaign goals, including MP advocacy, social media engagement, and mobilizing partners and the public. It requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of political and economic debates to ensure evidence-based campaign strategies. The position also involves providing support and advice to colleagues and partners.
Responsibilities
- Devise and deliver creative, impactful interventions that advance campaign goals.
- Create engaging social media content.
- Mobilize campaign partners and members of the public.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant political debates, economic policy, and public insights.
- Ensure campaign policy positions and tactics are evidence-based and timely.
- Provide peer support and advice to colleagues and campaign leads.
- Produce engaging digital and video content across multiple channels and audiences.
- Write and edit high-quality campaign copy, adapted for different audiences.
- Represent campaigns and coalitions in the media and at external events.
- Build a network of engaged key allies and partners across government, Westminster, business, trade unions, the media, academia, and civil society.
- Strengthen our coalition of key campaign allies and partners.
- Maintain strong relationships across the coalition, helping to energize, organize, and mobilize.
- Build relationships with grassroots campaigners and people with lived experience.
- Build strong cross-team relationships, keeping colleagues informed and consulting them.
- Contribute to organizational planning and strategy development.
- Actively support anti-oppression, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Embed anti-oppression, equity, diversity, and inclusion in our work.
- Work out of hours and undertake occasional domestic and overseas work trips as required.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required.
Requirements
- Experience in energizing, organizing, and mobilizing diverse groups of supporters.
- Experience of working on high-impact campaigns in a UK NGO, charitable, trade union context, or equivalent.
- Personal experience of poverty or economic marginalization.
- Ability to write and edit high-quality persuasive written materials.
- Understanding of how to adapt written materials for different audiences.
- A track record of producing engaging digital and/or video content across multiple channels and audiences.
- Expertise in navigating power structures and leveraging strategic pressure for policy shifts.
- Very strong interpersonal and listening skills.
- Ability to build trust and collaborative relationships with people from different backgrounds and seniority levels.
- Ability to engage constructively in broad and diverse coalitions.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and project delivery skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a complex workload.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
