About the Role

The Laundry Aide plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards by efficiently managing the laundering of linens, uniforms, and other textiles. This position ensures all laundry items are properly sorted, washed, dried, folded, and delivered promptly to support smooth operational workflows and contribute to a safe and sanitary environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort laundry items according to color, fabric type, and cleaning requirements.
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and report issues to the supervisor.
• Fold, organize, and distribute clean laundry to designated departments or storage areas promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
• Follow all safety and infection control procedures to handle soiled linens and chemicals responsibly.
• Keep accurate records of laundry loads processed and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.

Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying laundry loads up to 50 pounds.
• Basic understanding of laundry processes and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
