About the Role
SANY’s Syracuse Academy of Science Charter Elementary School is seeking a Building Substitute Teacher for Grades K-4 for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role offers a supportive environment for both new and experienced educators.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and instruction
- Work closely with small groups of students and provide intervention
- Actively participate in weekly meetings and attend all school-wide events
- Implement classroom policies and procedures
- Lead students to and from specials/lunch
- Effectively manage student behavior
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience with diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education
