About the Role

As a Software Engineer II, you will work within an energetic agile team implementing solutions that support a wide range of customers. You will develop high quality web-based applications for new and existing features, and bring creative ideas to the table to deliver better solutions to users.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Document, architect, and develop forward-thinking technical specifications and solutions based on business requirements.
• Communicate technical concepts to others and recommend appropriate solutions for core Vertafore products.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and related backend and front end code to create and enhance data conversion tools.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work with large data sets.
• Create and define valuable artifacts and documents for the team and external stakeholders.
• Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of ETL applications by identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automated tests.
• Experience working with REST API-driven applications and tools.
• Work in small teams, completing tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Define, refine, and enforce software development procedures, standards, and methodologies.
