About the Role

We are a busy family of four seeking a proactive, organized, and reliable Household Manager & Family Assistant to help bring a sense of calm and consistency to our home. This role involves supporting daily household operations, family routines, and organizational systems to ensure our home runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, fold, and put away laundry for family members and household linens.
  • Remove, launder, and remake beds with fresh sheets on a rotating schedule.
  • Iron, steam, and provide special care for garments as needed.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry room.
  • Involve children in age-appropriate laundry tasks.
  • Assist with school pickups and transportation to and from after-school activities.
  • Support children in their after-school routines, including homework and chores.
  • Help with morning drop-offs if a parent is traveling.
  • Create and maintain functional household organization systems.
  • Perform daily tidying and upkeep between cleaning visits.
  • Assist with seasonal clothing swaps and organization of children's clothing and gear.
  • Coordinate and prepare items for donation.
  • Manage proactive household upkeep, such as changing batteries and light bulbs.
  • Care for indoor plants.
  • Ensure outdoor and patio areas are clean and ready for use.
  • Manage and maintain grocery ordering.
  • Wash, chop, and prepare fresh fruit and vegetables for snacks.
  • Prepare 2-3 meals per week as the role evolves.
  • Occasionally prepare school lunches.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness during and after meal prep.
  • Manage household supply lists and maintain inventory.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Sort mail, bring in packages, and break down boxes.
  • Maintain visibility into the family's weekly schedule to stay ahead.
  • Assist with travel logistics for extended family.
  • Coordinate packing and unpacking for children's travel.
  • Prepare the home for hosting events and guests.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Reliable transportation, clean driving record, and valid driver's license required.
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain upon employment.
  • Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Fragrance-free preferred.
