About the Role

The Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen e.V. Berlin (SkF e.V. Berlin) offers diverse and challenging tasks, helping women and families in special life situations, engaging in youth welfare, and supporting people with disabilities. We are seeking a Consultant (w/m/d) for our Open Social Work team, specifically for the contact point for single parents in Neukölln, to start on 10/15/2026. This is a part-time (35 hours/week) position, initially temporary as parental leave cover.

Responsibilities

Maintain a functional contact point for single parents within the district structures of Neukölln.
Advise single parents, including outreach or at cooperation partners like family centers.
Conduct and initiate advisory, information, and exchange formats for single parents, such as group offers and online counseling.
Network with all relevant stakeholders in the district for competent referral counseling.
Collaborate closely with the coordination office of the district network for single parents in Neukölln.
Public relations.
Documentation.
Project administration, including creating progress reports and assisting with applications and accountability statements.
Regular participation in further training and exchange meetings with the Senate Administration and state coordination.

Requirements

Completed degree in Social Work, Social Pedagogy, Psychology, Law, or Social Sciences, or equivalent professional experience in these fields.
A qualification in systemic counseling is advantageous.
Knowledge of counseling work and the life situations and needs of single parents.
Ideally, experience working with single or separated parents.
Solid knowledge of financial claims and benefits for single parents, such as child benefit, parental allowance, and housing benefit.
Knowledge of dealing with psychological and social stress factors for single parents and their career prospects.
Appreciative and resource-oriented approach towards clients.
Work in a discrimination-sensitive, diversity-oriented, and prejudice-conscious manner.
Friendly, professional demeanor and confidence in dealing with the public, authorities, and media.
Willingness to participate in group supervision.
Ability for independent knowledge acquisition and structured work.
Additional language skills are desirable.
