About the Role

Provide technical accounting expertise under IFRS and US GAAP, supporting accounting matters and financial reporting judgments. Assess the financial reporting and accounting implications of a recent take-private transaction, including implementing accounting, reporting, and process changes. Contribute to the external audit process and support the Financial Reporting team during a period of change.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting expertise under IFRS and US GAAP, providing support on accounting matters and financial reporting judgements.
  • Assess the financial reporting and accounting implications of the recent take-private transaction, including identifying and implementing accounting, reporting and process change.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the external audit process including preparing supporting analysis.
  • Support the Financial Reporting team through a period of change, including contributing to monthly, quarterly and year end reporting deliverables as required.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post qualification experience in financial reporting and financial control, either from an accountancy practice or in industry.
  • Significant practical experience applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including the ability to prepare robust technical accounting analysis and exercise sound financial reporting judgement.
  • Experience managing financial reporting and audit processes.
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and independently with excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation and delivery of workpapers.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly, but also enthusiasm to take time to understand the area and its requirements.
  • Results driven approach, including ability to make enhancements and improvements to processes and increase transparency of analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work with the team and with others at Janus Henderson.
  • You will be expected to understand the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role.
  • You should be willing to adhere to the provisions of our Investment Advisory Code of Ethics related to personal securities activities and other disclosure and certification requirements, including past political contributions and political activities.

  • Position may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
