About the Role

The Director of Education provides strategic and operational leadership for Villa of Hope School, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest quality of inter-disciplinary care and customer service for students and families.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate an organizational culture of integrated Sanctuary Model and DEI&B.
  • Lead and partner in strategic planning for the school, aligning with agency objectives.
  • Provide operational leadership, including compliance, quality improvement, policies, programming, and financial performance.
  • Ensure high-quality inter-disciplinary care and customer service throughout student and family processes.
  • Oversee NYS testing processes, including assessment, ordering, compliance, scoring, and return of exams.
  • Ensure trauma-informed compliant processes for incident management and communication.
  • Function as hiring manager, overseeing recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and professional development for school staff.
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously pursue information and trends affecting special education and 853 Day School operations.
  • Partner with Grant Writer to fulfill reporting responsibilities and assist with new grant applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification as a trainer of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or Therapeutic Crisis Intervention in Schools (TCIS).
  • Knowledge of Federal and NYS laws and regulations in Special and Regular Education (especially Part 200).
  • Familiarity with the contents of “the purple book” is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical demands including standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, and responding quickly to emergencies.
  • Ability to complete TCI trainer certification training, including dropping to knees, twisting, exerting oneself physically, and supporting another adult's weight.

Salary/Compensations

  • $90,000-$100,000
