About the Role
As a Team Lead Application Management / Service Management, you will combine leadership responsibilities with technical oversight in service management, ensuring stable, efficient, and user-centric IT services, particularly for public sector organizations. You will be responsible for your team, developing structures and employees, and contributing to the economic success of your unit, while playing a key role in managing and advancing operational projects and business applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for your team, including resource management, prioritization, and reporting.
- Focus on the professional and personal development of your team members and their collaboration.
- Take responsibility for the economic success and continuous professionalization of your unit.
- Manage recruiting, onboarding, and long-term retention of new team members.
- Contribute to operational projects and business applications in Application Management.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure stable, efficient, and user-centric IT services.
- Manage and continuously optimize services, processes, and workflows according to agreed SLAs.
- Oversee Incident, Change, Release, and Problem Management with a focus on quality, commitment, and development.
- Support the implementation of the company strategy and work closely with other managers and interfaces.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in the technical and disciplinary leadership of teams with varying seniority and backgrounds.
- A good understanding of people, clear communication, and the ability to motivate and develop employees.
- Empathy and sensitivity to understand, motivate, and support team members in their development.
- Experience in IT Service Management, ideally in Application Management, Managed Services, or operational projects.
- Proficiency in handling service processes, SLAs, and the operation of business-critical applications.
- Knowledge of relevant standards such as ITIL, Service Governance, ISO 20000, and a good understanding of service-oriented collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- A structured, self-reliant way of working and the ability to develop pragmatic solutions even in complex situations.
- Enjoyment of collaboration with various interfaces and active participation in shaping changes and development processes.
- Very good German and good English language skills, both written and spoken.
