About the Role
Humber River Health is seeking a Clerical Support Associate for its Birthing Unit. This role involves providing essential clerical and customer service functions within a technologically advanced healthcare environment, contributing to high-reliability care.
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical support including patient registration and discharge.
- Maintain patient records and perform order entry.
- Assist with patient statistics and billing.
- Handle customer service duties such as scheduling appointments and responding to inquiries.
- Greet patients and visitors courteously.
- Communicate with bed allocation and other departments for patient placement.
- Liaise with other departments and service areas as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year recent clerical/office administration experience in a health care setting required.
- Good keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
- MEDITECH computer experience required.
- Good working knowledge of basic related medical terminology.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
