About the Role
This position is responsible for FSQ lab duties, including pre-operational coverage and reviewing FSQ documentation. The schedule follows a 3-2-2 rotation, working 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze meat samples using a variety of laboratory equipment and testing methods.
- Make accept/reject decisions on product conformity based on customer specifications and the Total Quality Control (TQC) program.
- Utilize AS400 systems to release products.
- Accurately enter and maintain R&D and plant analytical data within computer-based systems.
- Perform routine calibration of laboratory equipment and complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance activities.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections of the facility and assess sanitation effectiveness to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a liaison with USDA personnel during pre-operational inspections.
- Provide support to FSQ Supervisors by responding to radio and phone communications as needed.
- Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including on damp or slippery surfaces.
- Ability to work in a climate-controlled environment with temperatures ranging from 30°F to 40°F.
