About the Role
Paladin Security is seeking compassionate, professional, and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Full-Time Healthcare Security Guards at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, staff, and visitors
- Conducting regular patrols throughout hospital buildings, parking areas, tunnels, grounds, and the heliport
- Monitoring CCTV cameras, alarms, access control systems, and other security technology
- Responding professionally to emergencies, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, Code White, Code Silver, Code Red, and other hospital incidents
- Controlling access to restricted areas and verifying identification where required
- Investigating incidents and preparing clear, accurate reports
- Supporting crisis intervention and de-escalation using a compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Assisting healthcare teams in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
- Working closely with emergency services, including Toronto Police, EMS, and Fire Services
- Assisting with visitor screening, patient watches, workplace violence prevention, and personal safety escorts
- Supporting emergency preparedness, evacuations, special events, and VIP visits
