About the Role

Toyota Material Handling Inc. seeks a Firmware Engineer II to directly contribute to software and firmware development projects. This role involves writing and reviewing functional specifications, coding, documentation, testing, validation, and field support. The engineer will be responsible for the design and quality of a module or component within a larger system, performing engineering analysis and design of vehicle systems, and extracting/transforming/analyzing large datasets for actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Write and review functional specifications based on business requirements.
  • Write code, document code, test and validate, and support products in the field.
  • Perform engineering analysis and design of vehicle systems.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Two years of engineering experience in C or C++ for embedded systems development for real-time, safety-critical applications.
  • Two years of engineering experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing frameworks for embedded environments.
  • Two years of engineering experience in CANopen protocol and related communication standards.
  • Two years of engineering experience in automation or scripting languages like Perl or Python.
  • Two years of engineering experience in development applications with ARM architectures for embedded platforms.
  • Two years of engineering experience in TI Tiva C series or NXP microcontrollers in embedded system applications.
