About the Role
Oversee all aspects of the service department’s operations, including team leadership, workflow management, customer service, and ensuring the highest standards of repair and maintenance are met. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with diesel engines, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely repairs.
- Supervise and mentor a team of diesel technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Schedule and prioritize work orders to meet customer expectations and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by communicating clearly and effectively about diagnostics, estimates, repairs, and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor parts inventory and work with the parts department to ensure timely procurement.
- Review and analyze service reports, KPIs, and technician productivity to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support business goals.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel repair
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic equipment.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Experience with service software and reporting tools a plus
