About the Role
The 5th horn position with the ENB Philharmonic supports the principal horn in London and on UK tours. Responsibilities include performing various parts within the section, potentially sitting up, and performing to the highest standard in rehearsals and performances according to the Artistic Programme and priorities set by leadership. The role involves touring across the UK and potentially abroad, with opportunities to participate in wider company activities. This is a part-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 80 sessions annually.
Responsibilities
- Support the principal horn in rehearsals and performances.
- Perform other parts within the horn section as needed.
- Potentially sit up in the section, following consultation.
- Perform to the highest standard in rehearsals and performances.
- Adhere to the needs of the Artistic Programme.
- Work to priorities set by the Music Director, section leader, or orchestra manager.
- Participate in touring across the UK and potentially abroad.
- Engage in activities organized by the wider company, such as engagement and development departments.
Requirements
- Proven track record of experience in a professional ballet, opera, or symphony orchestra.
- Demonstrable ability to perform a wide range of repertoire, including new commissions.
- Ability to adapt to the requirements of the schedule of a touring orchestra.
- Experience of performing in smaller chamber ensembles.
