About the Role
As an RN in the Pre-Op and Operating Rooms at Mentor Hospital, you will facilitate the best healthcare experience possible by ensuring patients receive timely care. You will work within a supportive environment alongside fellow caregivers who offer a cohesive, encouraging, and constructive approach to enhance the patient's experience and your skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Evaluate, update, and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.
- Ability to float to Hillcrest Hospital.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Must comply with the influenza prevention program, which includes obtaining an annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption.
