About the Role
The US F&B Head of Marketing is entrusted with shaping and elevating CHANEL’s Brand Equity in the US for Fragrance, Skincare, and Makeup, aligning with Global strategies and local market realities. This leader will connect modernity with heritage, promote brand saliency and desirability, and drive data-informed, innovative, and client-centric growth in a dynamic marketing landscape. The role orchestrates the full marketing ecosystem, fostering collaboration with DCX, Brand Communication, and Artistic Direction teams, ensuring brand expression is coherent, elevated, and culturally resonant for an ultimate client experience.
Responsibilities
- Champion Chanel’s brand equity, ensuring all initiatives reflect the House’s heritage, creative vision, and uncompromising standards.
- Translate global brand strategies into locally relevant, high-impact plans that reinforce CHANEL’s local leadership in luxury fragrance and beauty.
- Promote US market and client realities towards Global teams to ensure specific needs are understood and translated into product and orchestration strategies.
- Act as the voice of the Brand to communicate CHANEL’s vision and support priorities to Retailers and Market Teams, inspiring alignment and ambition.
- Demonstrate deep strategic and operational mastery of Fragrance, Skincare, and Makeup, understanding category dynamics, competitive landscapes, and client evolving motivations.
- Orchestrate locally relevant activations and nourish Global MTP product plans.
- Guide category teams to build long-term equity while delivering short-term business performance.
- Supervise and consolidate A&P budget by axis, facilitating prioritization and monitoring sales performance and ROI to adapt plans and investments in real time.
- Commission and interpret marketing intelligence, consumer research, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting to inform strategy.
- Translate customer data and market insights into articulated action plans by axis, govern implementation and measure success.
- Connect the dots and lead the evolution from episodic insights to AI-augmented intuition, sensing cultural shifts and market opportunities.
- Lead the end-to-end development and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns, partnering closely with Brand Communication, Digital and Client Experience, Artistic Department and Retail teams, as well as Global partners.
- Ensure creation of relevant and always-on connections across touchpoints of the client’s journeys (events, digital activations, retail experiences, services…), to convey the House’s storytelling through elevated and innovative multi-channel expressions, elevating client lifetime value.
- Lead in a fluid world, operating in a composable marketing model where teams and skills reconfigure around outcomes, not just fixed roles.
- Bring a sophisticated understanding of modern F&B client journeys across online and offline ecosystems for each product axis.
- Partner with DCX and Retail teams to ensure that every online and offline interaction feels seamless and reflects the House’s signature level of service.
- Support the Retail to deliver extraordinary in-store and event experiences, consistent with Brand’s standards, together with the Artistic and Education teams.
- Leverage insights and data to anticipate the expectations of the diverse US clientele and shape meaningful, personalized experiences for launches and core product offer.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, nurturing curiosity and innovative spirit, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence aligned with Chanel’s image and values, where team members feel empowered to bring “out of the box” ideas.
- Lead with agility and promote simplification, guiding an evolving organization where roles continuously reconfigure as AI’s impact rises.
- Continuously assess what to automate, augment or eliminate, focusing teams on Brand priorities and high-value work.
- Partner with P&O to pilot adaptive organization principles when relevant.
- Develop strong relationships and trust with leaders of the rest of the marketing ecosystem (DCX, AD, Brand Comm) and collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and best-in-class execution.
- Provide sharp insights to influence global strategy and innovation pipelines.
Requirements
- Minimum of 20 years of experience and 15+ years of specific marketing experience
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize data easily
- Experience leading teams and leaders of teams
- Proficient use of Microsoft 365 programs is required
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically approximately 15% -20% or as business requires
- Exceptional written and verbal communication required
- Understanding of French language preferable
