About the Role
We are looking for talented people to join our growing Asset Management team to guide clients on developing investment plans using the latest tools, systems, and data insights. We seek individuals with practical, hands-on experience in infrastructure assets and an interest in developing capital and operational investment plans, transitioning plans into portfolios, implementing systems for investment management, and delivering digital asset management transformation.
Responsibilities
- Develop capital and operational investment plans (capex and opex plans – ‘totex plans’)
- Transition investment plans into portfolios and programmes of work for delivery
- Implement and adopt systems and tools to support investment planning & management
- Deliver digital asset management transformation and change programmes
- Distill complex insights into easy-to-understand presentations and reports
- Lead small (2-5 people) teams to deliver highly complex and strategically important assignments
- Manage day-to-day activity, team wellbeing, and assignment risks and issues
- Appreciate new and emerging sector capabilities such as smart infrastructure, digital twins, and whole life cost optimisation tools
- Form views and discuss wider topics with clients
Requirements
- Self-motivation and ability to manage own workload effectively
- Creative and open-minded, enjoying learning and trying new ways of doing things
- Strong communication, presentation creation, delivery, and document writing skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to work effectively with clients and inspire confidence
- Ability to turn highly technical detail into simple concepts and communicate clearly
- First-hand experience specifying, designing, and implementing a digital tool and/or enterprise system
- Understanding of Business Analysis, Requirements Management, Testing, and Change Management basics
- Involvement in change management approaches for digital tools/systems within the infrastructure sector
- First-hand experience implementing and using Asset Investment Planning & Management (AIPM) systems
- Experience with cost-benefit appraisal, portfolio & programme optimisation
- Experience with predictive / prescriptive modelling (Python, R Studio)
- Experience with systems modelling
- First-hand experience implementing and using Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) systems (e.g., Oracle P6, Microsoft Project, PlanView, ProjectWise)
- Understanding of data management and governance of an investment plan
- Understanding of necessary integrations with other systems to maintain traceability from delivery to strategy
- First-hand experience implementing and using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems (e.g., IBM Maximo, SAP S4, Ellipse)
- Appreciation of challenges in implementing EAM systems and realizing full benefits
- Strong, logical, and problem-solving mindset
- Good working knowledge of statistics and modelling with Excel or other tools
- Strong writing and authorship skills
- Appreciation for new and emerging sector capabilities (smart infrastructure, digital twins, whole life cost optimisation tools)
- Ability to form views and discuss wider topics with clients
- Must meet residency requirements for UK security clearance (British citizen or resident in the UK for the past 5 years)
