About the Role
Northeastern University London seeks an Assistant Professor in Economics (Teaching & Scholarship track) to teach predominantly undergraduate students and provide service to the discipline. The role involves developing and delivering innovative teaching in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics, and supporting diverse student cohorts, including domestic and international students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and provide innovative and inclusive teaching in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics at the undergraduate level.
- Provide professional service appropriate to career stage.
- Deliver engaging, accessible, and intellectually rigorous instruction suited to a variety of cohorts.
- Support the integration of technologies into learning and teaching.
- Undertake continuous professional development in relation to institutionally strategic themes.
Requirements
- PhD completed (or near completion) in Economics or a closely related discipline.
- FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or in progress (desirable).
- Excellent ability to be adaptable, innovative, and inclusive in teaching and service.
- Teaching competency in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics at undergraduate level (Levels 4-6).
- Experience of, or demonstrable ability to work effectively with, diverse student cohorts including international and study-abroad students.
- Ability to develop excellent educational provision in Economics with a focus on student engagement and experiential learning.
- Flexibility and capacity to teach across a range of Economics courses, where appropriate in collaboration with specialists from other disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills, both face-to-face and online.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
- Willingness and capacity to undertake continuous professional development.
- Must adhere to safeguarding policies.
- Must be able to demonstrate eligibility to work in the UK.
