About the Role

Crystal Palace FC Academy is seeking dedicated individuals to join the scouting department, focusing on identifying talented players at the Youth Development Phase (YDP) or Foundation phase ages and building relationships with local grassroots clubs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor local grassroots talent by attending games and tournaments in London.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local grassroots clubs and coaches.
  • Write reports to improve player knowledge via the club’s scouting system.
  • Attend CPFC Academy Talent ID events and showcase games as requested.
  • Liaise with coordinator and communicate weekly scouting activity.
  • Attend recruitment department meetings and CPD events.
  • Be available to attend up to 4 games per week.
  • Perform other duties as required by line manager.
  • Uphold and promote the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Equal Opportunities.

Requirements

  • An FA Level 1 in Talent ID
  • A Valid Driving License
  • Completed an FA Safeguarding Children Course
  • Full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Criminal Record Check (CRC)
  • Experience of working in football talent identification
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible and available to work unsociable hours
  • Able to work using your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Must be available to watch grassroots games in London at weekends.
  • Must have existing knowledge of local football in London.
  • Proven track record of building relationships in the local community.
  • Experience of identifying talent in the local area.
