About the Role

The AML Risk and Compliance Analyst supports the Firm’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), Assistant General Counsel, and the AML Risk and Compliance Manager in ensuring timely and accurate processing of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks and maintaining firm-wide compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete AML processes for all Firm clients, prioritizing UK and BR offices and assisting with Asia AML checks.
  • Perform Client Due Diligence (CDD) using public and internal sources and liaise with partners.
  • Conduct Politically Exposed Person (PEP) searches and securely store personal identification.
  • Perform sanctions screening on individuals and entities using global sanctions frameworks.
  • Update and maintain Firm software tools and databases.
  • Analyze and evaluate AML software tools and databases.
  • Compile information into final AML packs for management sign-off.
  • Perform follow-ups on outstanding files, ongoing monitoring, and periodic documentation checks.
  • Assist in reviewing CDD processes and implementing efficient procedures.
  • Manage workflow and backlog resolution to reduce threshold items.
  • Prepare and gather materials for external audit requests.
  • Attend AML team meetings.
  • Provide coverage for team members during leave.
  • Provide training and guidance to new team members.
  • Report compliance concerns immediately to the MLRO.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing CDD checks on entities and individuals, preferably in a law firm.
  • Knowledge of relevant AML legislation and guidance.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (LLB preferred, England & Wales or equivalent jurisdiction).
  • High standard of oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong research skills using internet and databases.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to assume new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong service orientation and ability to build relationships with attorneys and staff.
  • Commitment to in-office attendance expectations.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours if required.
