This role focuses on the technical design and engineering of decentralized energy projects, primarily photovoltaic (PV) installations, transforming opportunities into optimized, compliant, and cost-effective solutions from development through operation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical designs for photovoltaic projects, including system layouts, electrical diagrams, and equipment selection.
  • Perform energy yield assessments and production simulations using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct site assessments and technical due diligence to support project feasibility studies.
  • Prepare technical documentation for project development, permitting, and grid connection applications.
  • Review technical constraints and propose optimized engineering solutions aligned with customer requirements and project objectives.
  • Support business development activities by providing technical input for proposals, tenders, and client presentations.
  • Produce and review detailed engineering packages, including site layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), string designs, cable sizing calculations, protection and coordination studies, and structural integration concepts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and Greenvolt Group engineering guidelines.
  • Coordinate with external engineering consultants when required.
  • Validate equipment specifications and technical datasheets.
  • Support technology selection and value engineering initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to construction and site teams during project execution.
  • Review Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolve engineering-related issues during construction.
  • Participate in technical meetings with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Review as-built documentation and ensure consistency with approved designs.
  • Support commissioning activities and technical acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (business development, procurement, project management, and operations) to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Coordinate with Distribution System Operators (DSOs), regulatory authorities, and external engineering partners.
  • Support supplier and vendor technical evaluations.
  • Act as a technical reference throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure engineering designs comply with local regulations, grid requirements, safety standards, and internal procedures.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, new technologies, and engineering best practices in the renewable energy sector.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and processes.
  • Support the implementation of innovative solutions that enhance project efficiency, safety, and performance.
  • Provide engineering support during the transition from construction to operational phases.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues affecting project performance.
  • Support performance analysis and optimization initiatives for operational PV assets.
  • Contribute to technical documentation updates and lessons-learned processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering documentation throughout all project phases.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design reviews.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing engineering documentation and evidence of compliance.
  • Communicate project progress and technical risks to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Energy, Renewable Energy, Electromechanical, or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in photovoltaic project design, electrical engineering, renewable energy projects, or related technical roles.
  • Experience in the design and engineering of photovoltaic (PV) systems and decentralized energy solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage installations.
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation, drawings, calculations, and engineering studies.
