About the Role
Greenvolt Next is committed to decentralized energy production, a key pillar of the energy transition and a crucial lever for reducing electricity bills. This role focuses on the technical design and engineering of decentralized energy projects, primarily photovoltaic (PV) installations, transforming opportunities into optimized, compliant, and cost-effective solutions from development through operation.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical designs for photovoltaic projects, including system layouts, electrical diagrams, and equipment selection.
- Perform energy yield assessments and production simulations using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site assessments and technical due diligence to support project feasibility studies.
- Prepare technical documentation for project development, permitting, and grid connection applications.
- Review technical constraints and propose optimized engineering solutions aligned with customer requirements and project objectives.
- Support business development activities by providing technical input for proposals, tenders, and client presentations.
- Produce and review detailed engineering packages, including site layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), string designs, cable sizing calculations, protection and coordination studies, and structural integration concepts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and Greenvolt Group engineering guidelines.
- Coordinate with external engineering consultants when required.
- Validate equipment specifications and technical datasheets.
- Support technology selection and value engineering initiatives.
- Provide technical support to construction and site teams during project execution.
- Review Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolve engineering-related issues during construction.
- Participate in technical meetings with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Review as-built documentation and ensure consistency with approved designs.
- Support commissioning activities and technical acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with internal teams (business development, procurement, project management, and operations) to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Coordinate with Distribution System Operators (DSOs), regulatory authorities, and external engineering partners.
- Support supplier and vendor technical evaluations.
- Act as a technical reference throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with local regulations, grid requirements, safety standards, and internal procedures.
- Stay informed on industry developments, new technologies, and engineering best practices in the renewable energy sector.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and processes.
- Support the implementation of innovative solutions that enhance project efficiency, safety, and performance.
- Provide engineering support during the transition from construction to operational phases.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues affecting project performance.
- Support performance analysis and optimization initiatives for operational PV assets.
- Contribute to technical documentation updates and lessons-learned processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering documentation throughout all project phases.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design reviews.
- Support internal and external audits by providing engineering documentation and evidence of compliance.
- Communicate project progress and technical risks to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Energy, Renewable Energy, Electromechanical, or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in photovoltaic project design, electrical engineering, renewable energy projects, or related technical roles.
- Experience in the design and engineering of photovoltaic (PV) systems and decentralized energy solutions.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage installations.
- Experience in preparing technical documentation, drawings, calculations, and engineering studies.
- Familiarity with the full project lifecycle, from development and design through commissioning and operation.
- Good understanding of grid connection requirements, electrical protection principles, and applicable standards.
- Fluency in French and good command of English.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with PV design and simulation software, including PVsyst, PV*SOL, and electrical sizing tools.
- Knowledge of GIS tools and CAD-based design software is considered an advantage.
