About the Role
As a pedagogical specialist for career orientation and project coordination in schools, you will empower young people to develop realistic career prospects and successfully enter vocational training or employment. You will accompany and support young people directly at Berlin schools and after their school careers, making career orientation engaging, encouraging, and effective.
Responsibilities
- Conception and moderation of workshops for school classes in grades 9-11
- Individual counseling, coaching, and support for young people, including regular one-on-one meetings
- Support for young people in career orientation and the creation of individual career path plans
- Building and maintaining contacts and utilizing digital tools to support students
- Analysis and promotion of individual strengths and competencies of young people
- Intensive networking and cooperation with schools, companies, youth employment agencies, and other partners
- Support and guidance for young people in creating professional application documents and job searching
Requirements
- Completed vocational training or a degree in a relevant field
- Initial professional experience, e.g., in project management, working with young people, or the education sector
- Enjoyment of creating lively workshops, moderating them in a target-group-oriented manner, and trying out new methods
- Resilience, coordination and organizational talent, and experience in conflict and crisis management
- Enjoyment of working with diverse target groups, strong communication skills, and confident demeanor when dealing with decision-makers
- Good time management skills and organized daily work
- Ability to work independently, solution- and results-oriented, and constructively within a team
- Empathy in dealing with the concerns of disadvantaged youth, partner companies, and other project partners
