About the Role
As a Mechanical Technician, you will help drive our goals by carrying out mechanical maintenance, installation and repair of plant equipment and machinery, diagnosing faults and resolving issues to maintain safe and reliable operations, completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections across site, fabricating or modifying components using engineering drawings or reverse engineering techniques, maintaining critical systems including pumps, conveyors, valves, furnaces and piping, and recording maintenance activities and identifying spare parts requirements using SAP.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out mechanical maintenance, installation and repair of plant equipment and machinery
- Diagnosing faults and resolving issues to maintain safe and reliable operations
- Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections across site
- Fabricating or modifying components using engineering drawings or reverse engineering techniques
- Maintaining critical systems including pumps, conveyors, valves, furnaces and piping
- Recording maintenance activities and identifying spare parts requirements using SAP
Requirements
- Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training
- Experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environments
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
- Strong focus on health and safety with good communication and teamwork skills
- Applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months
