About the Role
As an Azure Databricks Architect, you will support clients in solving complex business challenges using data-driven technologies. You will develop modern data platforms and unlock value in key business areas such as Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Lakehouse architectures based on Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and other Azure services within transformation programs.
- Integrate new platforms into existing data landscapes.
- Develop viable solution approaches with business and technology decision-makers, assess implementation efforts, and manage delivery teams from planning to successful go-live.
- Design modern Medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and develop secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data engineering workloads.
- Establish CI/CD, DevOps, and governance standards for Databricks notebooks, jobs, and workflows.
- Implement ML and GenAI solutions using MLflow, Feature Store, and Azure AI Services.
- Manage architecture governance, conduct technical reviews, and develop reusable assets.
- Actively contribute to the development of our Data & Analytics business.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, or Lakehouse Architectures, ideally with a focus on Azure Databricks.
- In-depth knowledge of the Azure Databricks platform, including Workspace Design, Cluster Policies, Jobs, Workflows, Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog, and Delta Lake.
- Experience with the Azure ecosystem, including ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Event Hubs, Key Vault, Purview, and Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, SQL, ETL/ELT methods, data modeling, and data governance.
- Strong skills in stakeholder, customer, and delivery management.
- Experience in presales activities such as proposal creation, RFPs/RFIs, demos, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
- Very good German and English language skills (minimum C1).
