About the Role

Motorola Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bid Manager to lead and coordinate the complete end-to-end bid process, ensuring high-quality, compliant responses to RFQs and complex tenders. The role involves partnering closely with Sales, Project Management, and Technical teams to champion customer-aligned proposals, apply sound commercial judgment, and maximize win rates. The ultimate goal is to deliver compelling, competitive solutions that optimize project costs while protecting business margins.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full bid lifecycle from qualification and strategy development through to final contract award, supporting sales teams in partner identification and value proposition definition.
  • Assemble and manage virtual, multidisciplinary bid teams, interfacing with diverse departments.
  • Deeply understand opportunity dynamics, including customer requirements, timelines, cost structures, risk profiles, product features, and competitive landscapes.
  • Maintain an exceptional understanding of the market, product portfolios, and European Tendering rules.
  • Define clear Responsibility Matrices and Statements of Work (SoW) for internal and external parties.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to select, evaluate, and integrate strategic partners and sub-contractors.
  • Develop robust project implementation plans, accurate cost projections, and detailed financial baselines.
  • Coordinate design and content inputs to ensure all documentation, presentations, and demonstrations are clear, eye-catching, professionally formatted, and of the highest quality.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage operational and financial risks throughout the bid process.
  • Prepare and present high-quality deliverables and financial metrics to senior management.
  • Ensure a seamless handover of won bids to the Post-Sale project delivery organization.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3–5 years of dedicated Pre-Sales bid management experience, leading complex bid teams.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry or a strong project management background is highly preferred.
  • Comfortable and effective when presenting to and collaborating with CEO and Director-level executives.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, agile, and deeply technical organization.
  • Stellar communication, negotiation, and commercial skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and hit tight deadlines.
  • Strong independent leadership, analytical capability, organizational prowess, and strategic sound judgment.
  • A self-driven, motivated professional with a winning "can-do" attitude.
  • Practical financial management experience covering estimation, budgeting, strategic pricing, and risk assessment models.
  • University Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering (preferably Communications, Computer Science, Software), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Professional proficiency or fluency in additional languages (e.g., German) will be highly valued.
  • High competence in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) as well as Google Workspace cloud-based collaboration tools.
