About the Role

This role offers the largest and most direct impact on Fuse's P&L for someone at your level. Your decisions on cost management will directly influence the company's margin. Cost is a primary focus at Fuse, and you will be integral to identifying and reducing expenses, working alongside the cost control team.

Responsibilities

  • Own cost lines with a direct, visible line to the P&L.
  • Reconcile invoices against contracts and purchase terms across suppliers.
  • Build and maintain trackers for real-time visibility into cost drivers.
  • Validate settlement and regulatory charges against internal accruals and flag variances.
  • Identify savings opportunities within cost lines, contracts, or vendor relationships.
  • Support negotiations with suppliers and partners by preparing cost and usage data.
  • Automate manual and repetitive cost tracking and reconciliation tasks.

Requirements

  • Final-year student, or recent graduate, in engineering, maths, or another STEM discipline.
  • Strong first-principles thinking.
  • Comfortable in a fast, ambiguous, high-intensity environment.
  • Analytical, structured, and proactive.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Genuine interest in cost control, procurement, or operational finance.
  • Prior internship in banking, consulting, accounting, procurement, or a startup finance team (Bonus).
  • Exposure to contract or invoice reconciliation, vendor management, or process automation (Bonus).
  • Coding skills (Python, SQL, or similar) for building cost-tracking tools (Bonus).
