About the Role
As a Product Manager, you will support the ongoing development and governance of investment products throughout their lifecycle, working closely with colleagues across Investment Management, Compliance, Risk, Distribution, and Operations. This role is key to ensuring our products deliver value, remain competitive, and meet high governance standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the approval process for new funds, share classes, and Managed Portfolio Service launches.
- Design and review investment products, including investment objectives, policies, and risk profiles.
- Own the Fair Value Assessment process in line with Consumer Duty.
- Monitor customer outcomes and maintain Consumer Duty management information and key performance indicators.
- Support the distribution of investment products, including the production and maintenance of product documentation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Investment Management, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Distribution.
- Prepare reports and present updates to governance committees.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments to identify opportunities to strengthen the AJ Bell Investments proposition.
- Support strategic projects that enhance and develop our investment product offering.
Requirements
- A Level 4 investment qualification such as the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), CISI Diploma or equivalent.
- More than five years' experience in investment product management or product development within financial services.
- A strong understanding of the FCA regulatory environment and practical experience applying Consumer Duty, including Fair Value Assessments and customer outcomes monitoring.
- Knowledge of Managed Portfolio Services (MPS) and the UK investment market.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.
- Experience operating within a first line risk environment, identifying and managing risks within your area of responsibility.
- Excellent written communication skills, with experience preparing governance papers, reports or regulatory documentation.
- Experience working with UK investment platforms.
- Exposure to passive investing, responsible investing or retirement-focused investment solutions.
