About the Role
The Reliability and Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems in a regulated medical industry environment. This role focuses on hands-on maintenance, equipment reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement, minimizing downtime and supporting operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic equipment issues.
- Conduct equipment inspections and condition monitoring activities to identify potential failures.
- Support reliability initiatives by participating in root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate, detailed maintenance and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with quality systems, standard operating procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.
- Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and validation activities.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend solutions to enhance equipment uptime, safety, and efficiency.
- Adhere to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide timely troubleshooting and resolution.
Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience performing maintenance within a manufacturing, industrial, processing, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience working with maintenance management systems and completing detailed maintenance records and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a structured quality and compliance framework.
- Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and safe work practices.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Education Level
