About the Role

For our clients in the sector, this means delivering complex projects and programmes delivering low-carbon technologies and infrastructure and doing so safely, efficiently, and at pace.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the risk management performance of assigned commission(s).
  • Create and design effective risk management frameworks/strategies for assigned commission(s).
  • Manage and direct clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams on all risk management matters for assigned commission(s).
  • Partner with clients to meet expectations and build strong professional relationships.
  • Provide expert advice and support to Project/Programme teams in risk process administration, focusing on risks to key project objectives and escalation.
  • Facilitate and drive the delivery of risk workshops.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to identify opportunities and mitigations to minimize risk exposure.
  • Ensure risk mitigation action plans are developed, risk and action owners are appointed, and project plans are updated and monitored accordingly.
  • Direct and manage the delivery of Project/Programme quantitative risk analysis (cost and time).
  • Comment on the adequacy of contingency as part of the regular reporting cycle.
  • Develop and deliver monthly risk reports to clients and internal project teams.
  • Ensure all activities/operations align with Mace Control Centre, client requirements, and prevailing legislation.
  • Provide line management to team members and other Project/Programme members.
  • Utilize expertise to mentor and assist in the personal and career development of junior risk team members.
  • Direct the integration of risk with PMO and Planning disciplines.
  • Support the HUB Risk Lead with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience or equivalent in delivering a range of project risk management services on major construction projects.
  • Experience of effective risk leadership on complex construction projects.
  • Experience of setting up effective risk management/assurance frameworks/strategies.
  • Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.

Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk tools, techniques and software (e.g., Active Risk Manager, Risk Hive, @risk, Primavera Risk Analyser)
