About the Role
As Bar Manager, you'll free pour exceptional guest service. You'll lead the team, own the bar program, and keep every shift running as smoothly as it feels.
Responsibilities
- Leading, mentoring and developing a high performing bar team through positive coaching and hands on leadership.
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences by setting the standard for service every shift.
- Designing, costing and launching innovative cocktail menus, seasonal specials and signature drinks.
- Developing creative beverage experiences including tastings, cocktail masterclasses, guest bartender takeovers and special events.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and brand partners while identifying opportunities for exclusive products and activations.
- Managing stock ordering, inventory, cellar operations and regular stocktakes to maximise profitability and minimise waste.
- Preparing staff rosters and managing labour costs in line with operational budgets.
- Monitoring beverage costs, sales performance and financial targets while identifying opportunities to improve revenue.
- Ensuring compliance with RSA requirements, liquor licensing legislation, food safety standards and company policies.
- Overseeing daily opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS systems and operational standards.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for both guests and team members.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing bars or hospitality operations in a busy, high volume venue.
- A passion for cocktails, premium spirits, wine and craft beer, with an eye for emerging beverage trends.
- Strong commercial awareness, including stock control, labour management, budgeting and cost control.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Confidence managing supplier relationships and negotiating product opportunities.
- Outstanding communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when the venue is at its busiest.
- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Full, unrestricted Australian working rights (essential).
