About the Role
UTS College is seeking expressions of interest for Academic Teachers to join the Diploma of Communication program. This role involves teaching, providing student support, and collaborating with academic staff to ensure high-quality educational delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, and facilitate tutorials and workshops as outlined in the curriculum.
- Grade assignments, tests, examinations, and other assessment items.
- Provide detailed, timely, and meaningful feedback to students.
- Perform other teaching-related duties, including preparation and administration of student records.
- Provide early learning support and referrals to Student Success Advisors.
- Participate in professional development activities in consultation with academic leadership.
- Attend staff and subject meetings as required.
- Complete special assignments as directed by the Program Manager.
- Establish communication channels with academic coordinators, student success advisors, program managers, and colleagues.
- Participate in moderation activities.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree (doctoral qualifications preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in industry practice or post-graduate qualifications in Communication or a related field.
- Relevant demonstrated experience of teaching in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to innovative learning and teaching practices, including willingness to engage with contemporary approaches like blended learning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple demands and meet deadlines accurately.
- A NSW Working With Children’s Check.
