About the Role

Assist with the development and implementation of exercise programs to enrich the lives of clients, facilitating engaging classes including light cardiovascular, strengthening, flexibility, coordination, and balance training. Understand the importance of respect, trust, and empathy, and possess the skills to communicate effectively and motivate clients to live a healthy and active lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of exercise programs.
  • Facilitate engaging classes including light cardiovascular, strengthening, flexibility, coordination, and balance training.
  • Educate, support, and nurture participants during classes to provide a meaningful, supportive, and fun exercise environment.
  • Monitor individuals throughout classes and adapt programs as necessary.
  • Understand when to refer individuals to other supports if required.

Requirements

  • A kind heart and genuine passion for providing high-quality care to the elderly.
  • Current Driver's Licence and a registered and insured motor vehicle.
  • Previous experience in facilitating seniors' exercise programs, particularly water exercises.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and evaluating fitness programs.
  • Flexibility to adjust and adapt exercises to suit individual participants' abilities and goals.
  • Understanding of the exercise principles in Falls Prevention for seniors.
  • Ability to monitor individuals throughout the classes and adapt programs where necessary.
  • Understanding of the different forms of exercise suitable for seniors and the ability to teach/facilitate these safely.
  • Understanding of when to refer individuals to other supports if required.
  • A strong work ethic along with a sense of fun.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety.
  • Willingness to apply for a Police Check.

Education Level

  • Certificate 3 in Fitness (or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid certificate or willing to obtain

Salary/Compensations

  • $52.25 per hour + superannuation
