About the Role
As a Weapons Technician, you will play an important role supporting the Mini Typhoon, Typhoon and Toplite (MTTT) contract, helping maintain critical Defence capability through the delivery of specialist maintenance and technical support services. You will support the operational readiness and availability of naval weapon systems used by the Royal Australian Navy.
Responsibilities
- Delivering corrective and preventative maintenance across MTTT systems and associated equipment
- Maintaining, calibrating and repairing automated test equipment to support operational requirements
- Respond to urgent defects tasking, ensuring timely and effective resolution of system issues
- Providing technical advice and guidance
- Managing technical records, defect reporting and asset information within the maintenance management system
- Supporting quality assurance activities and driving continuous improvement across the contract
Requirements
- Experience in R.A.N. systems or weapons maintenance, repair and quality assurance
- Strong technical knowledge of complex engineering plant and defence-related systems and equipment
- Demonstrated experience coordinating maintenance activities across multiple suppliers and subcontractors
- Experience supporting ship maintenance activities within a performance and KPI-driven environment
- Experience working within engineering or marine engineering environments
- Proficient in the use of the IFS Asset Management System or equivalent Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- The ability to coordinate maintenance resources and supervise contractors
- Willingness to travel and work across different locations and vessels
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of trust and responsibility
- Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
