About the Role

Our Engineering team builds the technology that powers Nubank's financial products, striving for state-of-the-art software development practices. We value candidates interested in learning from our team and are confident in their ability to pick up new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop horizontally scalable microservices primarily in Clojure, utilizing Finagle, functional programming, and hexagonal architecture.
• Manage high throughput jobs and inter-service communication with Kafka.
• Implement Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines on AWS.
• Utilize Datomic and DynamoDB for data storage.
• Implement monitoring and observability using Prometheus.
• Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes.
• Work with large-scale distributed systems and understand their architecture.
• Plan and execute features, collaborating with peers.
• Contribute to building microservices, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
• Work within agile software development methodologies.
• Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain code.
• Participate in pair programming and code reviews to foster team growth.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to create new user experiences.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents.
• Focus on backend applications, with flexibility to contribute to mobile and frontend development as needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience developing digital products.
• Ability to quickly understand technical and business requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementations.
• A problem-solver with effective communication skills across functional teams.
• A software engineer who prioritizes user experience.
• Proven understanding of object-oriented or functional programming languages.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud technologies.
• Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
• Previous experience with CI/CD.
• Advanced English skills.
