About the Role

As a Sous Chef at Anglicare Sydney's Warriewood Brook Seniors Living community, you will play an integral role in creating high-quality meals and dining experiences for residents, guests, and community members. You will focus on food safety, quality, and service excellence, planning menus, coordinating café operations, and leading by example in a supportive and respectful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of daily café operations, from food preparation to service delivery.
  • Deliver high-quality food and service to meet customer expectations.
  • Plan and coordinate café operations, including menus and stock ordering.
  • Proactively manage customer queries and provide timely solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with HACCP, WHS, and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor budgets, contribute to sales and marketing initiatives, and suggest process improvements.
  • Lead and support café staff through on-the-job training and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent.
  • Minimum four years’ experience in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Excellent communication and literacy skills.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred).
  • A collaborative and positive approach to leading and supporting others.

Work Type

  • Full-time
  • Tuesday to Saturday shift schedule
  • One night shift per week on Thursdays

Experience Level

  • Minimum four years’ experience in the food industry

Education Level

  • Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent

Salary/Compensations

  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 of income is tax free.
