About the Role
The Therapeutic Residential Group in Berlin-Wedding supports pregnant women with a migration background and mothers with children under six who need assistance with living together with their child due to mental illness or severe life crises. A multidisciplinary, interculturally trained team provides 24/7 support in a therapeutic setting.
Responsibilities
- Key support for mother and child, counseling and support on everyday and parenting issues.
- Support in establishing and stabilizing an appropriate parent-child relationship.
- Promoting mothers' parenting skills.
- Assistance with daily life management.
- Pedagogical diagnostics and care plan creation.
- Crisis support and intervention, including assessment of potential child endangerment and development/implementation of a protection plan.
- Partial compensatory assumption of childcare if the situation requires it.
- Work with language and cultural mediators.
- Care documentation and creation of progress reports.
- Communication and exchange with cooperation partners and contact persons.
- Case discussions and coordination of care and therapy planning within the multidisciplinary team.
- 7-hour shifts in early/mid/late shifts during weekdays (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM) and weekend/holiday shifts (care hours 9:00 AM - 6:45 PM).
Requirements
- Professional qualification as a childcare professional (Erzieherin).
- Specific experience working with individuals with mental illnesses and from migration backgrounds.
- Professional competence in handling infants and toddlers and in counseling and supporting parents.
- Experience in crisis intervention and child protection.
- A appreciative and respectful attitude towards mothers and children and their challenges is particularly important.
