  • Create frameworks and patterns for other designers to build on.
  • Raise the bar for research rigor across the team.
  • Pair with PMs and designers on discovery and synthesis.
  • Help the team build self-sufficient research capabilities.
  • Push the craft bar in critiques and use judgment for shipping decisions.
  • Prototype using front-end code or AI tools to remove ambiguity for engineering.
  • Communicate intent precisely through prototypes.
  • Earn trust and influence with product and engineering leadership.
  • Ensure design has a seat at the table on strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional product design experience.
  • Track record of leading design for complex, data-rich products end-to-end.
  • Proven ability to define and drive design strategy for ambiguous, multi-quarter initiatives.
  • Deep experience designing for AI-native or AI-augmented products.
  • Self-sufficient researcher who has also improved the research skills of others.
  • Comfort working at the intersection of design and code.
  • Shipped products using front-end development or AI-assisted/vibe-coding tools.
  • Exceptional visual craft and taste.
  • Judgment to know when polish matters most and when speed matters more.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build alignment across build teams and with stakeholders on high-stakes decisions.
  • Comfort embracing ambiguity and delivering incremental value each sprint.
  • Candid, transparent, and able to speak one's mind while caring personally.
