About the Role

This position ensures service standards are met and surpassed by providing customers with prompt, quality coffee selection, purchase, and preparation, fostering a friendly, upbeat, and clean atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and communicate with every customer to provide excellent customer service.
• Discover customer needs and appropriately suggest products.
• Assist customers in selecting and purchasing specialty coffee beverages, whole beans, food, and other related products.
• Respond to customer needs and express gratitude.
• Maintain a professional appearance and communicate clearly during all interactions.
• Keep the customer service area, equipment, and café area clean and appealing.
• Perform equipment maintenance according to the preventative maintenance checklist.
• Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow.
• Perform cleaning tasks and adhere to cleaning standards as a team player.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing products.
• Handle cash and register operations according to guidelines and cash control procedures.
• Operate a POS terminal or computerized cash register.
• Enter data into the POS terminal.
• Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders to specific standards.
• Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
• Unpack, price, and shelve merchandise.
• Assist with merchandise displays.
• Maintain inventory records and assist with inventory activities.
• Adhere to the required dress code.
• Direct lower-grade and student employees as assigned.
• Perform any related job duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• One-year minimum experience in a retail/food service establishment.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to lift in excess of 60 lbs.
• Must pass a basic math test.
• Must perform practical operation of the training register, including balancing cash drawers and preparing deposits.
• Must pass Barista Certification.
