Responsibilities

  • Establish technical solutions for digital products and services, enabling re-use, flexibility, and scale.
  • Evolve and re-imagine the technology stack, ensuring resilient and modern functionality.
  • Directly contribute to engineering, engineering practices, correction, and support.
  • Build and experiment with cohesive products and services in partnership with product and engineering team members.
  • Support the team across quality engineering, enabling consistent patterns and improvements to designs.
  • Operate and manage platforms safely.
  • Build strong relationships with product, engineering, cyber, data, and delivery stakeholders.
  • Bring innovative thought leadership to the team and drive contextual designs.
  • Coach engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and best-practice standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data, Finance, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 10–15+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of high-performing engineering teams delivering customer-facing products.
  • Proven track record of leading complex engineering initiatives, driving technical design decisions, and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD, cloud-native application development, resiliency, secure engineering practices, production monitoring, incident response, and AI-powered development tools.
  • Deep technical expertise across modern technology stacks, including Java, TypeScript, Python, React/Next.js, Node.js, SQL, HTML/CSS, AWS, GCP, REST APIs, and streaming and queuing technologies.
  • Experience leading technical design discussions, collaborating effectively with business stakeholders, and influencing outcomes across Product, Design, and key stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven people leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without any restrictions.
