About the Role
As a Banking Associate specializing in business loans, you will support lending operations and focus on the diverse needs of business clients.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers via proactive outbound calling to assist with banking inquiries and lending eligibility.
- Raise awareness of Tyro’s banking solutions in every interaction.
- Assist with banking inquiries and advise on processes for clients interested in banking, accounts, and lending.
- Cross-sell and refer EFTPOS opportunities to the sales & account management team.
- Build strong relationships with business clients, creating advocates and helping repeat borrowers.
- Work closely with risk and product teams to ensure customer needs are met.
- Collect financials for manual assessment.
- Assist in vetting applicants by conducting preliminary reviews of financial documents and credit history.
- Perform basic credit analyses to evaluate creditworthiness of business loan applicants before risk submission.
- Monitor the quality of funded loans, including default rates, to maintain a healthy loan portfolio.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offers.
- Provide customer and business insights back to internal stakeholders.
- Perform ad hoc duties to assist with customer inquiries, initiatives, projects, and campaigns as directed by your manager.
Requirements
- Experience in banking or financial services, with exposure to lending and credit products.
- Previous experience in a phone-based sales or telesales environment is highly regarded.
- Enthusiasm for customer service, with keen attention to detail and follow-up.
- Excellent time management and strong communication/interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in building relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Proactive mindset and strong initiative.
- Analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Interest in understanding credit and lending fundamentals.
