About the Role

As a Field Tech, you will play a critical role in supporting field survey operations. This position provides hands-on experience with surveying equipment, field procedures, and safety protocols, working closely under the supervision of Field Chiefs to execute survey projects.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload all field equipment and batteries daily.
  • Charge batteries properly and consistently.
  • Maintain truck organization, including restocking supplies, removing trash, submitting receipts, and coordinating vehicle cleaning.
  • Clean and maintain field equipment to ensure readiness for daily use.
  • Safely and accurately set up field equipment such as Data Collector, Robotic Total Station, and GPS Base.
  • Develop a basic understanding of field equipment and its purpose.
  • Operate equipment under the supervision of a Field Chief.
  • Begin learning codes.
  • Assist with project setup and execution in the field.
  • Take directions from the Field Chief to efficiently complete tasks.
  • Interact professionally with client representatives and landowners.
  • Attend safety meetings.
  • Follow all OSHA standards, company safety protocols, and wear required PPE.
  • Stay hydrated and communicate any health concerns immediately.
  • Seek guidance from the Safety Coordinator or Joseph Lopez when needed.
  • Comply with work schedule and overtime policies.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation to/from work
  • Smartphone
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
  • Regular lifting of equipment up to 50lbs and extensive walking on uneven ground.

Skills

  • Follow directions with a positive can-do attitude
  • Ask questions to build knowledge and understanding of surveying and project specifics
  • Communicate, collaborate with, and be respectful to co-workers
  • Perform tasks safely under OSHA standards (including wearing appropriate safety attire: vest, glasses, gloves, steel-toe work boots, hard hat)
