About the Role
Phillips & Associates seeks a Paralegal to support the firm’s efforts prosecuting civil claims alleging sexual harassment, discrimination, and wage theft in the New York City office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare state and federal pleadings and civil cover sheets
- File court documents electronically
- Prepare and monitor the service of the complaints
- Draft and file EEOC Charges and responses
- Draft various correspondence and legal documents
- Draft interrogatories and document requests
- Work with clients and assist in responding to discovery requests
- Work with clients to obtain information requests via email, fax, or standard mail and maintain organization of information
- Coordinate and conduct meetings with clients
- Compile, organize and Bates stamp discovery responses
- Draft and respond to subpoenas
- Conduct legal research on various employment issues
- Prepare trial materials and binders if necessary
- Calendar court appearances, depositions, mediations, and client appointments
- Handle incoming mail for supervising attorneys and prepare and send all outgoing mail
- Prepare equipment for remote mediations or depositions taking place at the Phillips & Associates office
