About the Role
Fluidstack is seeking to deliver 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else by rethinking every layer of the stack. We are looking for individuals who care deeply about this problem space and want to be part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
Responsibilities
- Own controls commissioning delivery across BMS, EPMS, PLC, and SCADA (Ignition preferred) for Fluidstack's 2026 greenfield program, running L1 through L5 phases in parallel across multiple sites.
- Chair the weekly site big room as Owner's Representative, directing general contractors, designers, OEMs, and commissioning authorities from design-assist and factory witness testing through IST and turnover.
- Build and deploy FPT and IST test scripts with commissioning agents, verifying every controls system meets design intent before turnover.
- Own commissioning documentation, the controls budget, and change orders, tracking issues, punch lists, and final reports to closeout.
- Lead controls handover to operations and mentor project engineers across sites, standing up the commissioning playbooks and standards other engineers execute against on every site after.
Requirements
- Led controls commissioning end to end on 50 MW+ data center or comparable mission-critical builds, covering UPS/EPMS monitoring, chilled water, and HVAC systems.
- Read controls architecture and L1 through L5 documentation well enough to direct the work and hold vendors and commissioning authorities accountable.
- Run point as Owner's Representative, chairing big-room meetings and driving GCs, OEMs, and commissioning authorities to a shared schedule.
- Track budgets, change orders, RFIs, and submittals, and catch schedule and cost risk before it turns into a change order fight.
- Written FPT and IST test scripts yourself and reviewed them with commissioning agents to confirm systems meet design intent.
