Responsibilities
- Prepare documentation, dock receipts, bills of lading, and export declarations.
- File SED’s (Shippers Export Declarations) and shipping documents.
- Track and trace cargo to ensure proper movement and delivery.
- Provide accounting with correct billing information.
- Communicate with clients regarding freight disposition, including tracking, tracing, routing, dispatching, and rate quotations.
- Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
- Correspond with other Company branches and agents to ensure client satisfaction and excellent service execution.
- Identify the most profitable shipment modes while meeting client freight movement requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Position may require extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing, and walking.
- Some light lifting may be required in some instances.
- Must be career-oriented, hard-working, a quick learner, and have excellent recall for past events, situations, and numbers.
Skills
- Knowledge of the Import/Export industry preferred.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively (verbally and intuitively) with clients and internal personnel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of personal computers.
Experience Level
- Minimum 4 years related experience.
- Minimum one year of experience in air import or freight forwarding operations.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED required.
