About the Role
The Operations Coordinator position is responsible for quoting, routing, rating, monitoring, and coordinating international shipments (air/ocean import/export) from pick-up through to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deals directly with clients, customs, and agents to ensure the quickest and best movement of cargo.
- Prepares documents necessary for export, import, and customs clearance processes.
- Tracks and traces cargo to ensure proper movement and delivery.
- Ensures accurate invoicing and job costing by populating TMF with correct billing and cost information.
- Communicates with customers regarding freight disposition, including tracking, tracing, routing, dispatching, and rate quotations.
- Communicates and corresponds with other Company branches and agents for customer satisfaction and excellent service execution.
- Seeks the most profitable mode of shipment while meeting customer requirements.
- Adheres to KPIs including DNI, LNR, Cost accuracy, and ROTP.
- Ensures compliance with company standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in freight operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of all rules, regulations, governance, and documentation preparations for Imports and Exports.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills required due to high volume and demands.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to talk, hear, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to walk within the warehouse and inspect freight.
